They chose to say Yes in one of the most beautiful and iconic Venetian Villas in Verona, Villa Arvedi
Besides famous artists such as Paolo Caliari, Paolo Farinati, Ludovico Dorigny, and Santo Prugnati, who, according to Federico Dal Forno, made the Villa “among the most prestigious villas of the Veneto region for its architectural structure, excellent state of conservation, and the numerous series of frescoes conserved within”, the work of the painter Giuseppe Falezza (Verona 1658-1748) also deserves to be mentioned. Falezza adorned the villa with a number of paintings that are renowned for their quality. Although he was known as “the Allegri priest” in truth he was a friar of the Barefooted Carmelite order who lived in the Saint Thomas Cantuariense convent in Verona, in the present Piazza Isolo.
The frescoes in the famous Sala Titani show an overall view of the villa painted in the right turret of the Villa, especially stand out. The Garden based on a very elaborate geometrical scheme, the garden extends over a wide plain at the foot of the villa. Two fan-shaped vegetable gardens branch off in typically Baroque sinuous swirls from the fountain, which is the terracing’s spatial and aesthetic centre.
